More than 17 years ago, Amy Dean ignited her public relations career with a bang. On her first day at a Chicago public relations agency, two people announced their resignations at the Monday morning meeting. From there, the firm imploded almost overnight. Talent fled. Clients left. When the dust settled, Amy had a client to serve, an IT and eCommerce law firm. The head of the law firm summoned her to their offices for a meeting. On her own, Amy faced half a dozen of the firm's employees: the founder of the firm, the marketing attorney, the marketing director, the cyber librarian, etc. The founding partner asked Amy, "what are you going to do for us?" Two months after that meeting, Amy secured 221 national and local media placements for the firm, far exceeding the firm's record for earned media. When new management at the PR agency was established, Amy was rewarded for retaining one of the firm's bedrock clients. 

At the onset of her career, Amy won a reputation for having an uncanny ability to generate media attention. Her talent and ferocity enabled her to launch her own public relations practice in 2003. Her practice has thrived over the years because she is dedicated to delivering results despite obstacles. She works tirelessly to understand her clients' complex issues, to maintain productive relationships with reporters and to work with her clients to shape and distribute a steady stream of relevant, timely content to key influencers. She spends most of her time working with firms that want to establish themselves as thought leaders in their particular areas of expertise.

As the media market has evolved, Amy has expanded the service offerings of Dean Public Relations to include ghost writing, including bylined articles, marketing pieces and blogs, social media promotion and webinar development. She is a regulator writer for one of the top consulting firms in the world and has written pieces that have appeared in the Wall Street Journal, the Financial Times as well as leading trade publications. One of her signature achievements was masterminding a keyword driven, multichannel communications strategy to catapult one of the leading authorities on CIOs into the spotlight. Amy secures results that win client loyalty. Her client roster includes clients she has worked with for more than 10 years.
